About the work
Dawn chose to display her photographic work though the means of giclee style printing. This allows for not only the highest quality by using archival inks and museum quality canvas but also the most accurate representation of her images from the lens to the canvas. After an image has been set to canvas though the means of the highest quality of giclee, the canvas is then stretched over a poplar wooden frame (either 2x2 or 2x4 depending on the image). Then that the piece is either sprayed with a thin protective coating creating our Limited Edition pieces or glazed using our patent pending process creating our Glazed Editions.
Every piece is of the highest quality; from start to finish not one detail is over looked or neglected. By completing every step in the process in house we know you are receiving the best quality possible. We are proud of our artwork and are sure that you will be overly satisfied to own and display it.
About the Glaze Coating
The patent pending glaze coat is almost indescribable, a thick coating which is applied to the piece after it has been stretched over its wooden frame which is usually around an eighth to a quarter of an inch think. The coating is completely clear and when dry looks like liquid glass was poured over the piece. This process creates an almost “wet” look which makes the colors more vivid and deep and also adds a plastic like layer of protection around the piece. The pictures below are the best representation of comparing our Limited Edition and Glazed Edition but do not give justice to what these glazed pieces look like to the naked eye.
Adamantine Visit the Adamantine Website!
Adamantine is Dawn’s personal art gallery located in Wrightsville Beach NC, where Anderson-Capron Ltd. is also located. Adamantine could be considered the display part of Anderson-Capron which is production end. There are pieces in the gallery section under Adamantine on our website, those pieces are signature pieces that do more than display Dawn’s art, but also show her more unique ideas and incorporate more craftsmanship in each piece. These pieces are much more limited than any Glazed or Limited Edition pieces, usually only a handful are created.
Edition Numbers
Edition numbers vary according to the piece and are set by the artist. Only a certain number of pieces will be produced and once the edition number is met, no more will be produced.
